In and around Lech, you can spend peaceful, relaxing days fishing whether on the Lechbach, at Spullersee, at the Zug fishing pond, or at Formarinsee. The unique natural surroundings, the beautiful landscape, and the waters teeming with fish will make your fishing vacation in Vorarlberg something truly special. Look forward to catching rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout, brook char, lake char, and grayling.

The region around the Arlberg offers a wide variety of natural and mountain waters where you can fish without any problems. Respectful behaviour is, of course, expected, although you do not need to have passed a fishing exam for some waters. However, in summer, most waters may only be fished with a valid day permit for fishing in Vorarlberg, which you can obtain from ticket offices, at the fishing pond in Zug or at the Lech-Zürs Tourist Office.
The Lechbach is a high-mountain stream divided into several fishing sections. Sections 1 and 2 are easily accessible on foot, while sections 3 and 4 are best suited for experienced anglers. Sections 2 and 3 are just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. From June through September, you can catch brown trout, grayling, and rainbow trout here.
Spullersee is located at 1,810 meters above sea level and is accessible by hiking buses. From June through September, you can catch rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout, brook char, and salmonids there. It’s about a 36-minute drive from the hotel.
The fishing season at the Zug Fishing Pond runs from June through September. In addition to fishing, there’s a playground, and you can have your catch prepared on-site upon request. It’s about an 8-minute drive from the hotel. Parking is also available.

You can reach Lake Formarin very easily from Lech by local bus or after a roughly 30-minute drive by car. A day permit is also required for fishing in Vorarlberg here, so you can enjoy the angling experience to the full. It is no coincidence that Lake Formarin was named the most beautiful spot in Austria in the 2005 ORF television programme “9 Places – 9 Treasures”. The lake is also particularly beautiful when explored on a hike, a trail run or a mountain bike tour along the shore.
